Blizzard Announces New Untitled Survival Fantasy Game

You know how Blizzard Entertainment made games with incredibly large cards like, say, world of warcraftyou and Diablo? Well, now it looks like they’re taking the next logical step by creating a fantasy survival game based on similar principles. Hopefully it will be a good one.

New and untitled to the max!

Maybe they can even get a few people to forget their sex discrimination scandal. May be.

Blizzard Entertainment recently announced a brand new survival fantasy game on their official website. This fantasy survival game will apparently be coming to PC, as well as consoles. Hopefully this will also include PlayStation, but unlikely due to Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Blizzard). That’s about all we have for the concrete details.

Here is what the official website says:

Snow storm embarks on our next quest. We’re off on a journey to an all-new universe, home to an all-new survival game for PC and console. A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories to tell and adventures to experience. A vast realm of possibilities, waiting to be explored.

There is no release date, let alone title for this new video game. Which, to be fair, is completely understandable considering they literally just announced it. Heck, the ad comes with a job offer for art, design, and engineering for this game. That’s how new it is! So let’s cut Snow storm a little slack on this particular issue. Everything else is fair game, like their sex discrimination scandal, but that’s a topic for another article.

The Legend of Blizzard: Breath of the Wild?

Lapute? Is that you? How did you get here from Castle in THE sky?

Really, the best we can do for now is speculate on this untitled Snow storm fantasy survival game. While they don’t actually specify that it’s going to be a fantasy game, it’s pretty obvious that it is from the one piece of artwork they released. This work depicts a young man and woman traveling from their modern mundane city (via an equally modern and unremarkable bicycle). And find an entrance to a nearby fantasy world. For me, the floating castle gives a little whimsy and should be a treat for Studio Ghibli Fans.

However, the survival aspect is not really apparent in the artwork. Everything he looks like is your typical isekai-like a fantasy adventure straight out of an anime waiting to happen. May be Snow storm will have more for us later, but for now, that’s it.

Log in later to SAT for more information on this untitled survival fantasy game as this story develops.
