Netflix Movie Review ‘Rainbow’ – A Fun Fantasy Movie!

[ad_1]

This recently released Netflix movie, Rainbow gives us fantasy and Wizard of Oz vibes, but is built in the atmosphere of today. It has an average story, but the effects the film has to offer can be blamed for its extraordinary.

It’s a movie with an ordinary story, but it has its charms. Dora, a sixteen-year-old teenager frustrated at not knowing anything about her mother, leaves her father behind and goes in search of her mother. She doesn’t know anything about her mother and leaves her house with her dog named Toto in search of her. Dora is a musically gifted child, so we see a lot of musical elements in this film. Although the makers claim that it is not a musical film, we cannot completely avoid the fact that the film provides us with good entertaining music. The journey that Dora is on is of course not easy. As she sets out to find her mother, she encounters various other characters who stand by her side to complete her mission. The supporting characters add a lot of adventure to Dora’s journey, which makes the movie even more fun to watch.

This Spanish movie is a one time watch and is a great watch for teens or anyone who enjoys movies based on books, fantasy or drama. This film is a perfect amalgamation of all these genres. There’s always something going on in the movie, which is why it tried to keep us hooked until the very end with its vibrant scenes and characters. While he doesn’t give a backstory for all the characters, he certainly tried to showcase some impactful characters.

This movie can be compared to the Wizard of Oz, but it cannot match the level of Oz due to its lack of fantasy elements. There are mythical elements in the film, but it’s not something extraordinary in itself. It helps make the storyline extraordinary, but the mythic element itself doesn’t overshadow it.

Overall, the movie has a decent story and has a good climax, but still can’t be said to be gorgeous. Towards the end of the film, we get to know Dora’s mother and her story. Now, this may surprise viewers, but it may also seem quite predictable to some. There aren’t any major suspense elements waiting for you as you progress towards the end of the film, so we may find this an average watch. This one hour and fifty-seven minute film can therefore be considered a one-time viewing and can be enjoyed by audiences who love the genres of this film.

Final score – [6/10]
