Square Enix to Unveil PS5 Exclusive “Final Fantasy” Game at E3
Square Enix is reportedly set to reveal a brand new Final fantasy video game next month.
That’s according to Navtra, an industry insider and well-known leaker, who has a habit of revealing accurate information when it comes to PlayStation-related games. The user claimed in a ResetEra post on Friday (May 21) that the new Final fantasy The game will be announced at E3 2021 and will be exclusive to PlayStation 5.
It is said to be part of a series of Final fantasy updates that will apparently be the focus of the event, as well as information on Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.
Navtra later said in a follow-up post that Square Enix is also set to unveil a brand new intergenerational title from Eidos Interactive (now known as Square Enix Europe). But they also noted that the information should be taken “with a grain of salt” as they based the leaks on “knowledge of the games they have in development, their stage of completion and their target release dates.”
In a separate thread on Saturday (May 22), Navtra claimed that the unannounced PS5 exclusive Final fantasy game will be inspired by the popular Dark souls, which spawned the subgenre “soullike”. However, the user also noted that the next version “will not be [be] exactly what you imagine when you hear “Souls-like FF” ”.
Square Enix initially unveiled Final Fantasy XVI in September 2020 for PS5 and PC. The company later withdrew its announcement for a PC release, noting that the game will be a timed exclusive on the PS5.
During this time, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, an enchanted and enlarged version of the 2020s Final Fantasy VII remake, is scheduled for release on June 10. The new edition of the game will also include the exclusive PS5 expansion Intermission of the episode and introduce the character Yuffie Kisaragi.
